Wow, 9 years ago today I walked into the Civil Affairs office in Chongqing and met my daughter for the first time. What a peanut! She was so curious. And I fell in love for the first time. She was mine, the baby meant to be mine and I knew it as soon as I held her in my arms.
After getting to know her for a little bit, we took a family picture and then went upstairs and filed the adoption paperwork. It almost seems like yesterday, but my baby is no longer a baby. She'll be 10 in July. Time really does fly and they grown up so fast.

Laura, I love this photo of you as a first time Mom. Congrats on 10 years! yes, it does fly by. (my 1 & only is 21) Still it's SO painful to think of this wait for the next little one. Let me say that you have the advantage of being single in this case, my husband is losing heart...hope he gets re-energizes before our HS#3.
